On 5/17/17, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved S. 595 on a 9-2 roll call vote, as amended by the Johnson substitute amendment, Johnson amendment 2, Heitkampt amendment 2 as modified, and Heitkampt amendment 3 as modified.

AILA opposes S. 595.


On 3/9/17, Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) introduced the Boots on the Border Act of 2017 (S. 595) to allow U.S. Customs and Border Protection to waive polygraph examination requirements for applicants.
