Law Student Networking Event

Law students are invited to join us for a panel discussion on the ins and outs of the field of immigration law. Attorneys from various practice settings will be on hand to give insight into the process of transitioning from law school to professional practice. Following the panel discussion, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and network with the panelists and fellow students in attendance. Please contact to learn more.

Keynote Address Delivered by the Honorable Alejandro N. Mayorkas, Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security
In past years, important late breaking immigration news on issues such as the Morton Memo on Prosecutorial Discretion, DACA, and DOMA has been released during the Annual Conference. What will Deputy Secretary Mayorkas tell us this year and will you be among the first to hear it? Make sure you're in the audience.

Selling an Immigration Law Practice

AILA Annual Membership Meeting

Vote on proposed bylaw amendments, get updates and reports on member benefits and activities, and hear the national election results. The AILA Annual Membership Meeting is your opportunity to make your voice heard.

AILA Author Questions & Answers

Inquiring minds want to know! In this unique session, 13 authors of AILA books covering some of the most confusing areas of immigration law will field questions from you, the 2014 Annual Conference attendees. The authors will answer questions on everything from grasping the basic concepts of immigration law to complicated cases involving asylum, criminal immigration, employment-based immigration, removal proceedings, and more. You must submit your questions in advance to Deadline is June 1, 2014.

Empowering Communities & Enriching Your Practice: Setting Up Ethical and Organized Pro Bono Fairs

Join three pro bono experts for a discussion on how to organize efficient and ethical one-time pro bono clinics. Speakers will answer common questions on insurance considerations, common conflict areas and the ever-present dilemma - should we file G-28s? (Eligible for CLE credit)

CNN Films Presents a Special Screening of Jose Antonio Vargas Film DOCUMENTED and Q&A with the Director

Jose Antonio Vargas, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist will field questions and screen his film DOCUMENTED on Friday, June 20, 2014. In his film, Jose chronicles his journey to America from the Philippines as a child; his journey through America as an immigration reform activist; and his journey inward as he reconnects with his mother, whom he hadn't seen in 20 years. Join us to screen a documentary that's becoming part of the conversation on immigration. DOCUMENTED will air on CNN on Sunday, June 29th at 9 pm.

Get ready to kick back and join NMD Chair, Tracie Klinke, and a few hundred of your new best friends for an evening of food, fun, and networking. Come experience the new AILALink! If you don't know by now, AILALink is the online immigration law library that can save you time and money! The entire website has been redesigned and enhanced with new features and resources necessary for practicing immigration law. InfoNet ( is your number one member benefit, and contains over 27,000 substantive immigration documents. Take a training to learn what's on InfoNet and, more importantly, how to find it. Discover how to use the Message Center to network and seek case help from other members. A new and improved version of InfoNet is coming in the Fall of 2014.
