On January 26, Representative F. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) introduced legislation – the REAL ID Act - that purports to enhance security through already-failed anti-immigrant proposals. AILA and USCRI Receive UNCHR Grant for the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children

The United Nations High Command for Refugees (UNHCR) announces a grant to a partnership of AILA and the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) to establish a National Center for Refugee and Immigration Children. To be launched in spring 2005, the Center will help immigrant children obtain pro bono lawyers for their immigration proceedings.
