Dear AILA:

It has become necessary to change the procedure for accepting applications for adjustment of status due to staffing shortages. The Washington District Office will no longer accept walk-in applications for adjustment of status beginning August 1, 1994. All applicants for permanent residence should mail their applications to USINS, P.O. Box 3018, Arlington, Va. 22203.

This change will offer more efficient service to the public as we expect to schedule interviews within a sixty day period.
