DOS Final Rule on Certifications for Hague Convention Adoption Cases

DOS issued a final rule governing the application process for Hague Adoption Certificates and Hague Custody Declarations in cases involving emigration of a child from the U.S., as well as adoptions done in the U.S. following grants of custody in a Convention country of origin. DOS Issues Notice of Effective Date for Implementation of Five-Year Professor and Researcher Exchange Program

The Department of State (DOS) issued a notice that beginning November 4, 2006, current and future professor and researcher Exchange Visitor program participants will be eligible for five years of program participation, as provided for in the final rule adopted May 19, 2005, 70 FR 28815. DOS Issues Notice of Proposed Rule for WHTI Passport Card

The Department of State has issued a proposed rule to address the travel facilitation requirement of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI). It proposes to implement a passport card for U.S. citizens crossing U.S. land borders, or traveling by sea, between the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean or Bermuda. DHS and DOS Issue a Final Rule Notice on the First Phase of the WHTI

DOS Announces Correction to Final Rule on Consular Review of Nonimmigrant Visas

DOS announced a correction to a final rule expanding guidance to consular officers for the review of nonimmigrant visa issuances and refusals contained at 22 CFR 41.113(i) and 22 CFR 41.121(c) to specify who should conduct reviews, the types of cases to be reviewed and the goals of the reviews. DOS Publishes Rule Implementing Technical Nomenclature Changes and Changes to Visa Form Numbers
