ICE Provides $2.5 million to PA Law Enforcement Agencies for Role in ICE Investigation

ICE’s “Operation Return to Sender” Results in the Apprehension of 127 People in Oklahoma

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced that ICE agents and officers apprehended 127 individuals as part of a four-day, state-wide interior immigration enforcement operation that began last Wednesday. On July 12, 2006, ICE arrested 46 Mexican foreign nationals and deported them the same day. An additional 81 arrests followed. AILA Doc. No. 06071861.

Assistant Secretary Julie Myers announced that ICE agents have apprehended over 2,179 “criminal aliens, illegal alien gang members, fugitive aliens, and other immigration status violators” as part of a nationwide interior immigration enforcement operation that began on May 26 and ended on June 13. Julie Myers Receives Recess Appointment as Head of ICE

President Bush has appointed Julie Myers as Assistant Secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Because the appointment was made during the Congressional recess, it takes effect without Senate confirmation. Her nomination had been stalled in the Senate. AILA Doc. No. 06010660.
