On 07/31/2008, Senator Menendez (D-NJ) introduced the “Visa Efficiency and E-Verify Extension Act of 2008” (S. 3414) which would recapture family-sponsored and employment-based immigrant visas lost to bureaucratic delays and to prevent losses of family-sponsored and employment-based immigrant visas in the future.
The bill would also extend the Conrad State 30 program for 5 years, the special immigrant non-minister religious worker program for 3 years, and reauthorize the DHS Basic Pilot electronic employment eligibility verification program, also known as “E-Verify.”
