On 3/9/09, the Senate passed the Fiscal 2009 Omnibus Appropriations bill (H.R. 1105), by a voice vote moments after voting (62-35) to invoke cloture on the bill. The bill was passed by the House of Representatives on 02/25/09.
The Omnibus appropriations measure includes provisions that would extend two immigration related programs --the EB-5 regional center program and Basic Pilot (E-Verify) program-- through September 30, 2009.
The omnibus bill now heads to the White House for the President’s approval.
While the Religious Worker and Conrad 30 extensions were not included in the Omnibus measure, we are hopefull that a reauthorization of those programs will occur shortly.
