AILA has produced this nine minute video, “Comprehensive Immigration Reform: An American Tradition,” to serve as a tool for its members and for immigration advocates to use in reaching out to members of their communities, the media, and to policy makers.
The video makes the case for comprehensive immigration reform by challenging the myths surrounding this ongoing debate. It details the benefits of a comprehensive approach to fixing our nation’s broken immigration system while pointing out why an enforcement–only or piecemeal policy won’t work.
AILA urges you to look for opportunities to initiate discussions about immigration in your community by screening this video as part of a presentation. Consider seeking audiences with local leaders, service clubs, social clubs, churches, business associations, and schools. Check with your Chambers of commerce for listings of such organizations in your area.
Once you have secured a “screening” be sure to have with you other backup information to use as handouts. AILA’s Resource Guide: Making the Case for Comprehensive Immigration Reform provides excellent supporting materials including talking points and fact sheets
And don’t forget, AILA Advocacy and Communications staff would appreciate the opportunity to provide further information or answer questions about either the Resource Guide or Comprehensive Immigration Reform video
