  • DOS Announces Temporary Travel Flexibility within Western Hemisphere for U.S. Passport Applicants (6/8/2007)
    On 6/8/07 DOS and DHS announced that U.S. citizens traveling to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda who have applied for but not yet received passports, can nevertheless temporarily enter and depart from the U.S. by air with a government issued photo identification and DOS official proof of application for a passport through 9/30/07.   • Iraq's S, M, N Series Passport No Longer Valid for U.S. Travel (2/1/2007)
    Effective Jan. 8, 2007, the U.S. will no longer issue visas in Iraq S series passports or accept them for admission to the U.S. Iraqis with S series passports should contact the nearest Iraqi embassy to find out how to obtain a G series passport.
