    DOL announced the imposition of a $2.25 million back pay award and $400,000 in fines in settlement of an action against a computer staffing company for H-1B labor condition application violations.

    DOL announced that William Carlson, currently Chief of the Foreign Labor Certification Division, will become ETA Regional Administrator for Boston.   • DOL Claims to Meet Its LCA Processing Obligations (6/1/2000)
    DOL certified to the Senate that it "substantially complied" during calendar year 1999 with the requirement that it process LCAs within seven days. This certification is necessary for DOL to obtain a share of funds from the $500 filing fee.
