H-1B extension - almost current, adjudicating petitions filed before 8/27/98
- H-1B (subject to cap, with 10/1/98 start date)-
- Notices amending the start date have been sent to attorney/petitioner and may be signed by any authorized person - including attorneys (facsimile transmissions are not acceptable, original signatures are required)
- CSC has a backlog of over 6,000 of these H-1B cases and has set a goal to have them all adjudicated by 10/1/98
- There are approximately 20,000 H-1B’s in the system and it is possible for the 1999 cap to be reached as early as December ‘98 or January ’99
