Take Action Tuesday: Tell Congress the True Costs of Immigration Detention

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is ramping up efforts to expand its network of immigration detention facilities, even though the evidence continues to mount that DHS is unable to detain immigrants responsibly or humanely. Reports continue to surface of deplorable conditions in detention, and limited access to adequate medical and mental health care. Unless the government takes immediate action, immigrants will continue to perish in government custody.

Just this week, advocates called on the government to address the systemic failure to provide appropriate medical services in an immigration detention center in Aurora, Colorado.

Join the Immigration Justice Campaign in urging members of Congress to demand accountability and urge consideration of alternatives to detention.
