Legislation Moving Through Congress

Legislation Moving Through Congress tracks legislation actively moving in Congress, including bills AILA endorses and is mobilizing our members to support. A full list of AILA’s positions on legislation and information about each bill can be found on AILA’s Advocacy Action Center.

On Thursday, March 18, the American Dream and Promise Act (H.R. 6) and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, FWMA, (H.R. 1603) passed the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support.

Now the Senate must act and bring these bills up for a vote. AILA urges swift passage of both bills.

Take Action: Congress Must Pass Immigration Legislation

Current Legislation Providing a Path to Citizenship for Unauthorized Immigrants

Polls consistently show that Americans overwhelmingly support the legalization of people living in the United States without legal status. In fact, 80 percent of Americans support permanent legal status for all unauthorized immigrants and more than 60 percent support a path to citizenship for all unauthorized immigrants.

AILA supports several bills in the 117th Congress that would provide permanent legal status and a path to citizenship for all unauthorized immigrants including Dreamers, recipients of TPS and DED, farmworkers, and essential workers.
