AILA Releases New Edition of INA and CFR

WASHINGTON, DC - The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is proud to release the 2015 editions of the Immigration & Nationality Act (INA) and the Immigration Regulations (CFR).

The INA includes all new provisions passed in 2014. It also includes the immigration-related statutes that appear in Title 8 of the U.S. Code but are not part of the Immigration and Nationality Act. The Immigration Regulations (CFR) two-volume set is an easy-to-use primary-source reference used by practitioners and judges alike. Title 8 covers Aliens and Nationality in one volume, with the second volume covering the immigration-related portions of Titles 6, 20, 22, 28, 42, and 45.

Among the new items in the 2015 editions are:

• A DHS final rule amending the regulations that govern when USCIS will issue correspondence, notices of decisions, and documents evidencing lawful status in the United States to an applicant, petitioner, attorney, or accredited representative;
• A Department of State final rule on the accreditation and approval of adoption service providers in intercountry adoptions;
• A Department of Health and Human Services interim final rule proposing standards and procedures to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse and sexual harassment involving unaccompanied children in the Office of Refugee Resettlement's care provider facilities;
• A Department of State final rule amending the general rules covering the Exchange Visitor Program that govern the designation of sponsors and the overall administration of the program.
