CBP Issues Statement on Agent Involved Shooting in Hidalgo, Texas

CBP issued a statement about an agent involved shooting on the morning of January 29, 2021, near the Rio Grande in Hidalgo, Texas. Per CBP, the agent was responding to a report of an unauthorized entry. An adult male sustained a gunshot wound and received medical attention.

Note: On January 29, 2021, CBP provided an update noting that the injured individual was transported to a local hospital by EMS where he was pronounced deceased at 9:00 am.
