Subject: Australia Joins Visa Waiver Pilot Program
1. Effective July 29, 1996, Australia will become a participant in the Visa Waiver Pilot Program. Citizens of Australia, traveling on Australian passports, may enter the U.S. without visas under the same criteria that apply to the other 24 VWPP countries.
2. Australia citizens who wish to travel on VWPP should be reminded that VWPP travel is limited to tourism or business trips of 90 days or less. Persons wishing to work or study in the U.S., or wishing to remain longer than 90 days, must apply for visas.
3. As of July 29, VWPP countries are: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
