DOS fact sheet, included in a 10/27/14 DOS alert, on the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa program. On 8/8/14, the President signed the Emergency Afghan Allies Extension Act of 2014 which authorized the issuance of 1,000 additional visas for Afghan principal applicants by 12/31/14.
