H.R. 4184: Extending Status Protection for Eligible Refugees with Established Residency Act of 2017

On 10/31/17, Representatives Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), Frederica Wilson (D-FL), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), and Alcee Hastings (D-FL) introduced the Extending Status Protection for Eligible Refugees with Established Residency Act of 2017 (ESPERER Act, or H.R. 4184), which would allow certain nationals from Haiti, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Honduras who arrived in the United States and received Temporary Protected Status (TPS) prior to January 13, 2011, to adjust to lawful permanent resident status.
