INS Advises on Key Personnel Nominations

I am pleased to announce that I am recommending to the Department of Justice that the following employees be appointed to key positions under the regorganization:

William S. Slattery, currently the District Director, New York District, to be the Executive Associate Commissioner for Field Operations;

James A. Puleo, currently the Acting Executive Associate Commissioner for Operations, to be the Executive Associate Commissioner for Programs;

Kenneth W. Rath, currently the Acting Executive Associate Commissioner for Management, for permanent appointment to that position;

Michael S. Williams, currently the Acting Chief of Staff, to be the Regional Director, Central Region; and

Joseph Mancias, Jr., currently my Senior Management Counsel (Public Affairs), to be the Director of Public Affairs.

Pending formal Department approval, I have asked these individuals to begin acting in their new roles immediately to enable me to put the reorganization plan into place as quickly as possible.

The Regional Director positions for the Eastern and Western Regions will be announced in the near future.
