AILA Releases Important New Resource on Citizenship & Naturalization Law
WASHINGTON, DC — The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) announces the release of AILA's Guide to U.S. Citizenship & Naturalization Law. This important new volume offers an in-depth analysis of the laws and procedures governing acquisition of citizenship and the process for naturalization.
"As has been frequently noted, immigration law is one of the most complex areas of U.S. law and policy in existence. The naturalization and citizenship process is no walk in the park, so having this resource is incredibly important for any lawyer," said AILA President Doug Stump. He continued, "This publication will be a real boon for attorneys because it offers specific guidance and advice on everything you can think of related to the sometimes long and arduous road from arriving immigrant to citizen."
AILA's Guide to U.S. Citizenship & Naturalization Law covers the basics, like how to complete the N-400, to the more complicated discussions of false claims of U.S. citizenship and their effect on continued eligibility to naturalize. The new Guide is also a quick reference on issues that may crop up during a client's naturalization application process (e.g., dual citizenship, oath ceremonies, loss of citizenship, and how to maintain LPR status to ensure eligibility to naturalize). For those at the start of their immigration law career, the sample annotated forms and practice tips for completing those forms will be invaluable.
