NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER
CONGRESSIONAL RELATIONS UNIT
THE NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER, CONGRESSIONAL RELATIONS UNIT, ANNOUNCES THE FOLLOWING CLOSURES:
Thanksgiving Day - 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (November 28, 2002)
Day After Turkey - 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (November 29,2002)
One Congressional Liaison will be at the center to handle emergent phone inquiries. In addition, the supervisor, NSC, CONGRESSIONAL, will be on-call to assist in situations involving matters of extreme emergency.
FY03 ASYLEE ADJUSTMENT PROJECTION
We anticipate the cutoff for FY03 will be 2/1/99 filings, meaning that cases filed up to that date can be given an authorization number if determined to be approvable. Nearly all pending asylum adjustments have been consolidated from field offices to NSC for further action. By the end of this calendar year, it is anticipated that Headquarters INS public affairs will post a news release addressing asylum adjustment numbers.
