President Issues Memo for Secretary of State on Unexpected Urgent Refugee and Migration Needs

On 8/16/21, President Biden directed the Secretary of State to submit a determination to Congress for MRAA assistance in an amount not to exceed $500 million from the U.S. Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund to meet migration needs of refugees or persons at risk due to the situation in Afghanistan.
