Limits Proposed for Assigning Social Security Numbers

SSA proposal would make the only nonwork reason for assigning SSN to aliens (20 CFR 422.104) those situations where federal law requires them to have SSN in order to receive federally funded benefit. Comments due 12/13/99. (64 FR 55217, 10/12/99)
