Michael C. McGoings Selected for Position of Deputy Chief Immigration Judge, EOIR

The Executive Office for Immigration Review has informed AILA that Immigration Judge Michael C. McGoings has been selected for the position of Deputy Chief Immigration Judge. Judge McGoings has been an Assistant Chief Immigration Judge since 1995, and served as Acting Chief Immigration Judge prior to the appointment of Brian O'Leary as Chief Immigration Judge. Also, effective Monday, November 16, 2009, former ACIJ Jill DuFresne (Baltimore Immigration Court) will be detailed for 90 days to the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge as Acting Assistant Chief Immigration Judge. She will assume supervision of Immigration Courts (Buffalo/Batavia, Bloomington, Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, Memphis, and Omaha) formerly supervised by former ACIJ Michael C. McGoings.
