Julie Myers Receives Recess Appointment as Head of ICE

President Bush has appointed Julie Myers as Assistant Secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Because the appointment was made during the Congressional recess, it takes effect without Senate confirmation. Her nomination had been stalled in the Senate.
