Latest Draft of Senate Immigration Bill

This is the latest draft of the Senate immigration "grand bargain" bill, as of the afternoon of May 19, 2007. It is still being negotiated and revised, and should NOT be taken as final text. AILA will post a section-by-section summary as soon as we have completed our review of this document. Senate debate is scheduled to start Monday, May 21, with a "cloture" vote on a "motion to proceed" at 5:30 pm eastern. Please keep tuned to AILA InfoNet for updates and please contact your Senators to tell them why this bill in its present form is unacceptable and unworkable.
