AILA Briefing & Call to Action for Reforms and Cuts to Funding at ICE, CBP

AILA Briefing & Call to Action for Reforms and Cuts to Funding at ICE, CBP

AILA will host an all-member briefing and call to action on Friday at 1:00 p.m. EST focused on our fight for reforms and accountability in immigration enforcement and for cuts to ICE and CBP funding. DHS funding is on hold in Congress due to the serious concerns about unchecked enforcement that has resulted in chaos, violence and killings of people by federal agents. Today nearly two-thirds of Americans oppose ICE’s enforcement strategy. Now is the time for AILA and all members to push Congress to end the harms being committed in American communities and insist that enforcement be fair, humane and within the bounds of the law.

Speakers will offer an update on AILA’s campaign and on the ongoing negotiations between the major parties in Congress and the White House. Additionally, AILA will share information about how members can join the Take Action that has already generated over 3000 actions to Congress. The upcoming weeks are critical to keep the momentum going.
