Coping Cafe: Practical Tips for Stress Management

Join us for a supportive and practical "Coping Café" focused on building tools for navigating stress and emotional challenges in demanding times. This interactive session will introduce accessible coping techniques for managing stress, anger, anxiety, and depression, along with simple self‑care practices that can be incorporated into daily life. Participants will leave with concrete strategies to help regulate emotions, build resilience, and support their overall well‑being—both professionally and personally.

AILA, the National Well-Being Committee, and Sendero De Esperanza are excited to present this roundtable as a part of Well-Being Week in Law 2026. Join us for a week of resources and roundtables to build community, share practices, support well-being, and manage stress together.


AILA Video Roundtables are free interactive learning opportunities hosted by faculty selected for their expertise, with an emphasis on discussion and Q&A. This roundtable is available only to AILA members and is not CLE eligible. The free recording will be available 7-10 business days following the live event.

Helen Candelaria MEd, MS, LPC, El Paso, TX

Helen Candelaria MEd, MS, LPC; Helen is licensed in Texas with 6 years of professional work experience. She is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor. Helen attained a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (2005), Master of Arts in Education (2007) and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2018). Her clinical experience is extensive. She has provided trauma informed care to adolescents at 2 federal migrant shelters where she held the position of assistant Lead Clinician. She has worked with acute patients at 2 different psychiatric facilities and held the title of Program Manager. She also has extensive training in treating substance abuse. She is currently working at Sendero de Esperanza conducting psychological evaluations for immigrants who reside in the U.S. for the past 3 years. She is also proud of her previous career as Director of Education and Director of Career Services at 2 different colleges in El Paso.
