Recording Available 7-14 Days After Event Date
Format Length CLE Eligible
Video Roundtable 60 min. No

Do you remember a time before EOIR Court & Appeals System (ECAS)? Or have you always practiced in a world where your filings depended on ECAS functioning on any given day? EOIR launched its electronic filing program in 2019 and ushered in a new layer of intricacies to the practice of removal defense. Join members of the EOIR National Committee for an informal presentation about how they navigate around ECAS and other court “tech” issues followed by a conversation with fellow practitioners about what works and doesn’t work in your court.

  • Uploading to ECAS
  • Addressing Consolidation Issues: Who is the real lead, where are the documents going?
  • Notices of Appeal and Paying the BIA
  • What to do with name errors and other ROP issues

The AILA EOIR Liaison Committee coordinates with local EOIR liaisons to monitor issues, trends, and policies that relate to individuals in removal proceedings before the immigration courts and the BIA. They also collect and send related trends to EOIR officials.
