AILA Supports the Fair Treatment of Asylum Seekers Wrongfully Deported Under the Asylum Cooperative Agreements

The Biden administration terminated the Asylum Cooperative Agreements (ACA) via a Presidential Executive Order. While in effect, approximately 945 asylum seekers were summarily deported to Guatemala. AILA joined Human Rights Watch, as well as other advocates and partners, in calling for procedural measures to allow this small number of families and individuals to be allowed to return and seek protection in the United States.
