CBP Interim Final Rule Creating CNMI Economic Vitality & Security Travel Authorization Program
CBP interim final rule (IFR) creating the CNMI Economic Vitality & Security Travel Authorization Program (EVS–TAP), which will allow prescreened Chinese nationals to travel to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) without a visa under specified conditions. The rule also amends DHS regulations to require individuals intending to travel to Guam or the CNMI under the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program to submit Form I-736 electronically in advance of travel and receive an electronic travel authorization prior to embarking on a carrier for travel to Guam or the CNMI. The IFR is effective 9/30/24. Comments are due 3/18/24. (89 FR 3299, 1/18/24)
