DOS Clarifies Use of New Form DS-157

In a January 11, 2001, cable, the State Department announced that a new form DS-157, Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application, was now required of all male nonimmigrant visa applicants between the ages of 16 and 45, regardless of nationality and regardless of whether they apply for a visa. In a subsequent cable dated January 12, 2001, the State Department clarified that all A, G, and NATO applicants, except for A-3, G-5 and NATO-7 applicants, are exempt from this new requirement.
