In Memoriam: George S. Newman

Beloved husband of Susan Newman; dear father of Katherine Newman Orwig (Christopher) and Caroline Newman; loving grandfather of Nathaniel and Sebastian Orwig; dear brother of the late Walter M. Newman Jr. (Lisa); dear brother-in-law of Karen Rothstein (Steve); dear uncle, cousin, and friend to so many.

He helped create the Conrad 30 J-1 waiver program which allows the best and brightest international medical graduates to practice medicine in a health professional shortage area in rural counties or inner cities for a three-year period and to skip a return to their home countries for two years prior to practicing medicine in the United States. At the time of his retirement, George obtained more J-1 waivers than any other attorney for physicians practicing in the states of Missouri and Kansas.
