White House Released Decision Memorandum on Department of Defense Support for Border Security

The White House released a decision memo that authorized U.S. service members to support DHS and to perform “military protective activities…. including a show or use of force (including lethal force, where necessary), crowd control, temporary detention, and cursory search.”
