86 Representatives Urge DHS to End Arrests at Immigration Courts

6/5/25 AILA Doc. No. 25060602. Detention & Bond, Removal & Relief

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) led 86 House members in a letter to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and ICE Acting Director Todd M. Lyons expressing concern over ICE enforcement operations at immigration courts and noting that many of those arrested after their existing deportation cases were dismissed by DHS lawyers did not have a criminal record.

The letter demands written responses to several questions regarding these operations and urges DHS to “immediately suspend enforcement actions targeting noncriminal immigrants and individuals who are actively complying with our immigration laws.”
