WASHINGTON, DC - The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) recognizes Immigration IMMpact Litigation with the 2022 Jack Wasserman Memorial Award for excellence in litigation in the field of immigration law.

Many of the lawyers at Kuck Baxter, Joseph and Hall, and Siskind Susser have been great friends for years—so much so that they decided to band together at the outset of the pandemic to take on mass, high-impact immigration litigation.

Originally nicknamed the Three Amigo firms, IMMPact Litigation is the evolution of that collaboration. They have filed 22 mass federal lawsuits since the collaboration began and are proud to have a number of major successes, including one case with over 1,800 plaintiffs. Additionally, they have collaborated as cocounsel with AILA on issues of major priority to the organization, including Purdue v. Scalia (challenging Trump’s DOL wage rule) and Kinsley v. Blinken (challenging the legality of the 212(f) visa ban).

IMMPact has also been pioneering the use of technology in litigation efforts by adapting artificial intelligence software tools to automate the onboarding of plaintiffs, including engagement letter generators, declaration builders, online payment tools, status apps to help us track plaintiffs in mass mandamus claims, and more. They have harnessed numerous social media tools to integrate public advocacy with litigation efforts since public attention can serve as a tool to draw attention and lead to resolution of cases.

Their use of technology has received attention well beyond the immigration bar. IMMPact Litigation has just been awarded the 2022 American Bar Association’s James Kean Award for eLawyering; only one firm in the country receives this award each year.
