WASHINGTON, DC - The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) recognizes Matthew T. Galati with the 2022 Joseph Minsky Young Lawyer Award for his outstanding contributions made as a young lawyer in the field of immigration and nationality law.
Matthew T. Galati (“Matt”) is the Principal of The Galati Law Firm, LLC, headquartered in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. Founded in February 2020, the firm focuses most of its practice on investment migration, extraordinary ability cases, federal court delay and denial litigation, and representing clients in other entrepreneurial visa filings. Most of his peers however know him as an expert in the EB-5 realm.
As one nominator wrote, Mr. Galati’s move to start his own firm was a daunting challenge and one many young lawyers never take, but he has “great business acumen and practice management skills,” which, added to his immigration law knowledge, made him a truly exceptional young lawyer.
Mr. Galati has been heavily involved in AILA since the dawn of his immigration attorney career. In 2012, he was named to his first committee role as Chair of the Philadelphia Chapter’s National Day of Action Committee. In 2016, he was elected to the Philadelphia Executive Committee, culminating in his role as Chapter Chair in 2020–21. He is the current chair of the Chapter’s USCIS Committee and Executive Nomination Committee.
On the national level, he has proudly served on the EB-5 Committee (2018-present) and the High Impact Litigation Committee (2021-present). He has been a faculty member in AILA University’s Consular Processing and EB-5 courses and has authored several practice pointers. Beyond AILA, Mr. Galati serves as a member of the EB-5 investor-focused nonprofit American Immigrant Investor Alliance’s advisory board.
