CBP Memorandum on Custody of Medically At-Risk Individuals

CBP's National Standards on Transport, Escort, Detention, and Search (TEDS) guidance states that individuals should generally not be held in CBP facilities for more than 72 hours. Efforts should be made to minimize detention time for processing, transfer, or release when possible.
