DOJ Interim Final Rule Clarifying Bars of Eligibility During Credible Fear and Reasonable Fear Review

DOJ interim final rule with request for comments making a technical amendment to the regulations to clarify that immigration judges' de novo review of asylum officers' credible fear and reasonable fear determinations shall, where relevant, include a review of the asylum officers' application of any bars to asylum or withholding of removal under DHS regulations, as well as other clarifying technical changes related to credible fear and reasonable fear processes. The interim final rule is effective 12/27/24. Comments are due by 1/27/25. (89 FR 105392, 12/27/24)
