On 3/18/21, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Farm Workforce Modernization Act by a 247 to 174 vote. The passage was bipartisan with 30 Republicans voting yes with the Democrats; one Democrat voted against the bill.
On 3/3/21, Representatives Lofgren (D-CA) and Newhouse (R-WA) introduced a bill to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide for terms and conditions for nonimmigrant workers performing agricultural labor or services, and for other purposes. AILA endorses this bill.
