Statement by ICE Director Saldana Clarifying Testimony on Secure Communities

Statement by ICE Director Sarah Saldana clarifying a statement that she made during her testimony before the House of Representatives’ Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in response to a question regarding if she thought it would help if Congress clarified the law to make it clear that it was mandatory that local jurisdictions cooperate with ICE. Saldana states that she supports the end of the Secure Communities program and the replacement of it with a new Priority Enforcement Program.
