USCIS Announces Approval of Settlement Agreement in NWIRP Legalization Class Action Suit
On September 9, 2008, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, approved a settlement agreement in the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, et al., v. USCIS, et al. A class action lawsuit, the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) case involved claims by individuals who were unable to apply or who were deemed ineligible for legalization under the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986. Application period for legalization began in February 2009 and ended on January 31, 2010.
