White House Releases Presidential Memo with Changes to How the U.S. Handles Asylum Seekers

The White House released a presidential memo titled, “Additional Measures to Enhance Border Security and Restore Integrity to Our Immigration System,” with dramatic changes to how the United States treats individuals seeking asylum, including charging fees to file asylum applications and limiting access to EADs. Memo calls on the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security to develop policies within 90 days.
