EOIR Issues Policy Memo on Administrative Closure Following Matter of Cruz-Valdez
EOIR issued policy memo 22-03 to address administrative closure in light of Matter of Cruz-Valdez, 28 I&N Dec. 326 (A.G. 2021). In some cases, where a respondent requests administrative closure, and DHS does not object, the request should generally be granted and the case administratively closed. Guidance effective as of 11/22/21.
