On 9/30/15, the Senate passed H.R. 719, a bill that included the Continuing Resolution which funds the government until 12/11/15 by a vote of 78 yeas and 20 nays. Later that day, the House passed the same bill with no changes by a vote of 277 yeas and 151 nays. President Obama signed it into law the same day.

Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) filed amendment #2689 on behalf of Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS); the amendment is a Continuing Resolution to fund the government through 12/11/15. The underlying bill to which the CR will be attached is the TSA Office of Inspection Accountability Act of 2015 (HR 719).

On 9/22/15, Senator Cochran introduced the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2016. It would fund the federal government through 12/11/15. Four immigration programs would be extended for the same length of time: E-Verify, EB-5, religious workers, and the Conrad State 30 program.
