AILA President Welcomes Addition of Ecuador to Eligible Countries for Family Reunification Parole Process

10/18/23 AILA Doc. No. 23101807. Humanitarian Parole

Washington, DC - In response to an announcement from the Department of Homeland Security that the Biden Administration will add Ecuador to the list of countries eligible for Family Reunification Parole (FRP) Processes, AILA President Farshad Owji said:

“The Biden Administration’s choice to integrate Ecuador into the Family Reunification Parole system using the president’s parole authority is judicious. The FRP process will allow qualified individuals residing in Ecuador to reunite with their U.S. citizen and legal resident family members more quickly. Family reunification is vitally important and is part of the administration’s efforts to encourage legal migration, recognizing the dangers that people encounter from smugglers and transnational criminal organizations, and reduce border pressures.”
