Removal Track
In the current enforcement climate, it is essential to remain on the cutting edge of removal practice. Featuring sessions on trial skills, habeas corpus, and third-country removals, this track will have you prepared to advocate for your clients’ best interests.

Business
This intermediate-to-advanced track covers law and policy updates, adjudication trends, and worksite enforcement developments and features critical new content such as removal defense skills for employment-based practitioners. Practitioners will also learn how AI is changing the face of their practice.

Family Track
Complex I-130 and I-751 issues, ethics, and humanitarian relief such as VAWA, U and T visas, and asylum are just some of the topics covered in this track. Sessions will also address timely concerns, including TRIG, allegations of marriage fraud, racial bias and discrimination in enforcement, advocating for LGBTQ+ clients, and detention issues for family practitioners.

Fundamentals
New to immigration law? This track is for you! Get a solid background in everything you need to begin practicing. This track also has something for the seasoned practitioner looking to expand into new areas. Sessions will explore ethics, employment-based immigration, family-based immigration, and removal defense. Stay on this track the whole time or move between fundamentals and advanced tracks.

Humanitarian Track
AC26 will include a special one-day humanitarian track that will dive into key issues spanning VAWA practice, TRIG bars, and the many complex issues and challenges of humanitarian immigration law. This track is curated to offer practical insights you can apply right away, so you can best serve your clients.

Our closing party will take place at the iconic San Diego Zoo! You can enter the zoo as early as 2 pm to explore on your own and make your way to the party area at 6 pm to enjoy food, drinks, animal shows, music, and dancing. Separate ticket required.

AILA San Diego Chapter Welcome Taco Party

Description:
Welcome to San Diego! Close your first day of the conference at the AILA San Diego Chapter Welcome Taco Party. Join us at the beautiful waterfront park, Embarcadero Marina Park North, a short six-minute walk from the Marriot Marquis conference hotel. Be a local with us and come out and enjoy panoramic views of San Diego Bay at sunset, while listening to a local Latin music band. Just imagine yourself enjoying a perfect summer sunset overlooking the ocean with colleagues and friends, while enjoying local street tacos, dessert, and drinks. We can’t wait to see you there!

Embarcadero Waterfront Wellness Walks

Description:
Step away from the conference buzz and into the fresh coastal air. Join us for a pair of guided 30-minute wellness walks along San Diego’s scenic Embarcadero during the Conference. Designed to refresh your mind and body, these easy-paced walks offer a chance to connect with fellow attendees while enjoying beautiful waterfront views, gentle movement, and a moment of calm before the day begins.

When: June 18 – Embarcadero Marina Park North Walk
Departing from the Manchester Grand Hyatt, this walk heads south along the waterfront, passing Embarcadero Marina Park North and continuing toward the edge of Seaport Village before returning.

When: June 19 – Embarcadero Marina Park South Walk
Departing from the Marriott Marquis Marina, this walk heads south into Embarcadero Marina Park South, following a gently curving waterfront path through open green space before returning.

Each walk is beginner-friendly, flat, and accessible. No special equipment needed—just comfortable shoes and a willingness to breathe, move, and reset.

What to expect:

  • Free 30-minute guided group walk
  • Scenic bayfront views and iconic San Diego landmarks
  • A relaxed, social atmosphere

Meeting Points:

  • June 18: Manchester Grand Hyatt main lobby entrance -8:30 a.m meet time - (45 minute - Morning Walk)
  • June 19: Marriott Marquis Marina main lobby entrance - 12:15 PM meet time (30 minute - Afternoon Walk)

Look for the walk leader holding a sign labeled “AILA Wellness Walk.”

What to Bring:
Comfortable walking shoes, water, and a light layer if needed. Take a break from the conference pace and enjoy a simple, refreshing walk along San Diego’s waterfront—you’ll return feeling grounded, energized, and ready for the day ahead.

Description:
