DOS Updates List of Countries Subject to Visa Bonds

DOS updated the list of countries subject to the visa bond pilot program established by the 8/5/26 temporary final rule. Currently, nationals of Mauritania, Sao Tome and Principe, Tanzania, The Gambia, Malawi, and Zambia must post a bond of $5,000-$15,000 to travel to the U.S. on a B1/B2 visa. Mali, which was included in a 10/8/25 DOS update, no longer appears on the list.
