DOS Updates List of Countries Subject to Visa Bonds

DOS updated the list of countries subject to the visa bond pilot program established by the 8/5/26 temporary final rule to include Mali, Mauritania, Sao Tome and Principe, and Tanzania, to be implemented 10/23/25. Nationals of these countries and The Gambia, Malawi, and Zambia must post a bond of $5,000-$15,000 to travel to the U.S. on a B1/B2 visa.
